Sustainable design
is the ultimate purpose of every activity aimed at reducing our impact on the environment. Designing with nature is about minimising the negative impact of the design process and generating high quality products that are able to withstand the test of time, in terms of style and performance, while putting the health and comfort of people first. This is Pedrali's philosophy: to furnish spaces in such a way as to take care of the well-being of those who use them.
disassemblability
During production, maximum attention is paid to reducing the consumption of raw materials, to rationalising resources, to reusing and/or recycling waste, and to controlling emissions. Making durable products, both from an aesthetic prospective and in terms of resistance, is the key element to ensuring sustainability. From the design phase, Pedrali’s furniture is conceived to be disassembled and produced through processes aimed at limiting consumption.
sustainable wood products
Products made from wood are FSC® C114358 certified. This means that, for its production, Pedrali makes exclusive use of wood from responsibly and adequately managed forests, in line with strict environmental, social and economic standards. Pedrali uses water-based coatings composed mostly of plant-derived resins, ensuring a substantial decrease in chemical compounds contained in normal coatings. The benefits are manifold, and include a healthier and less hazardous working environment, less air pollution, and vast energy savings.
recycled polypropylene
Pedrali’s plastic products are made from high quality raw materials and are recyclable and environmentally friendly. In 2020, the company produced its first “recycled grey” products, made from recycled polypropylene: 50% post-consumer waste and 50% industrial waste.
Post-consumer waste comes from products that have been used by consumers. The industrial element comes from plastic waste. Following this process, Pedrali obtained from 2022 the ReMade in Italy ® certification on several products of its collections. ReMade in Italy is the first Italian voluntary product certification for the verification of the recycled content in a product. It guarantees the traceability of materials within the production chain, starting from the verification of the origin of incoming raw materials up to the output of new recycled products. It thus represents a model for verifying the quality and sustainability of recycling process.
